Good News to All the Railway Job Aspirants - Official Vacancies Released By Railway Board

To ensure increased passenger satisfaction in Indian Railways, the Railway Board officials decided to cut short the recruitment process in the Railway Recruitment Boards. As per the official inputs from the railway board, current process right from submission of applications to joining takes nearly two years to complete selection process.

Currently, Indian Railways has heavy shortage of employees. In the recent meeting held with all 17 Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), the Railway Board Chairman Ashawani Lohani urged all the General Managers of zonal heads to suggest changes in the recruitment process. In response to the Chairman's decision, Chahatey Ram, General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway  suggested that "The process of recruitment takes too long, taking almost two years since submission of application. Many candidates get alternative jobs, leading to the poor materialization of indents (vacancy notice). With online tests, etc, the process should be speeded up.".

So, we may expect few changes in the railway recruitment process including completion of recruitment process within six months and computer based exam for all posts at various levels and earlier completion of the recruitment process.

At present, Indian Railways have nearly 1.3 million employees maintaining 66,030 km of tracks, 10,773 locomotives, 63,046 coaches and 245,000 wagons. As of December 2016, Indian Railways has 225,823 vacancies in Group ‘C’ and Group ‘D’ categories. So, it is really good news for all the Railway job aspirants.
