IIT Kanpur Admission Notification 2017 for Various M.Tech, MS (Research) and Ph.D Programmes

Indian Institute of Kanpur (IITK) has advertised notification for various M.Tech/M.S(Research)/Ph.D programmes for the 207-18-II Semester starting from Jan 03, 2017 in various disciplines. Interested and eligible Indian and Foreign Nationals can apply online between 03/11/2017 to 17/11/2017 in the official website.

         Following are the brief details of the IIT Kanpur admissions notification.

List of Departments/Interdisciplinary Programmes :

Ph.D. (Engineering): Aerospace Engineering * Biological Sciences & Bio-Engineering * Chemical Engineering * Civil Engineering * Computer Science & Engineering * Electrical Engineering * Industrial & Management Engineering * Materials Science & Engineering * Materials Science (Interdisciplinary Programme) * Mechanical Engineering.

Ph.D. (Sciences): Chemistry * Earth Sciences * Mathematics & Statistics * Physics.

Ph.D. (Humanities & Social Sciences): English (Literature , Linguistics and ELT) * Fine Arts * Psychology * Sociology.

Ph.D. (Management): All areas of Management

M.Tech.: Electrical Engineering (Power Engineering, Control and Automation) * Materials Science & Engineering * Mechanical Engineering (Robotics & Automation, Manufacturing Science).

MS (By Research): Aerospace Engineering * Computer Science & Engineering * Electrical Engineering. Objective of this program is to promote project based and industry sponsored research.

Those employed in an industry or a college/university/institute may apply for admission as a sponsored, external or part-time candidate. Further information on these categories of admissions, click here

Application Procedure :

• The online applications portal (for Indian Nationals only) will be available from 03/11/2017 (00:00 Hrs) till 17/11/2017 (23:59 Hrs).

• Indian Nationals can apply only through online mode of application. Foreign Nationals can apply only through off line mode.
• Offline Application Form (for Foreign Nationals only) (common form for M.Tech., Ph.D. and MS (By Research)) can be downloaded from here
• PhD applicants must arrange for two letters of reference as well. For this purpose, the names of the referees along with their e-mails addresses are to be provided by the candidates in the online applications portal. The referees will be contacted electronically through an auto generated mail to submit their recommendations online 

• Separate application form is to be filled for each program.

Application Fees : Rs. 400/- for General and OBC candidates and Rs.200/- for reserved category and all PhD applicants. No fees for 'Foreign National' candidates.
